What is AMDGS?
AMDGS is my new site for geospatial and data related news and training. I'm Dr. Andrew Miles, and academic with over a decade's experience working in data management and geographical information systems across the private, public and academic sectors. I regularly teach undergraduate and CPD courses around GIS, open data and more, and decided that a blog and YouTube channel seemed a great addition to what I already do.
Hopefully the resources on the site will be helpful for anyone looking to add to their skills - whether student or professional. Check out my posts and videos to find out more.
GIS & Spatial Analysis
As a geographer I specialise in looking at spatial patterns in data, mapping features and analysing change.
Over time I'll be adding tutorials to cover the use of R, python and other tools to take your skills to the next level
Open Source & Open Data
There's never been more free tools and datasets available, but they're no use if you don't know what they are and how to use them - so let us point you in the right direction.
Get in touch
I'm always open to suggestions for topics to cover, discussion of research collaborations and other ways we can work together, so feel free to get in touch.
